Cribl.Cloud Migration

Move a self-hosted Cribl deployment to Cribl.Cloud with a tested import and a coordinated cutover.

Who it’s for

This package fits when

  • You run Cribl Stream on your own infrastructure and want Cribl to run the Leader instead
  • Patching, scaling and backing up the Leader is time your team would rather spend on pipelines
  • You are consolidating on Cribl.Cloud to use Search and Lake alongside Stream
  • You want the move done without a gap in data flow or a rebuild of your routes and pipelines

Benefits

What you get out of it

  • Cribl manages the Leader, upgrades, security and scaling, so your team does not
  • Your routes, pipelines, packs and knowledge objects move as they are, tested before cutover
  • A single coordinated cutover window with a rollback path
  • Access to the full Cribl.Cloud suite: Stream, Edge, Search and Lake

What’s included

Three parts, one engagement

  1. 1Review and plan

A screen-share review of the current deployment: sources, destinations, routes, pipelines, packs and worker groups. We produce an updated architecture document that maps every component to its Cribl.Cloud equivalent and lists the migration steps.

  2. 2Export, import and validate

VisiCore engineers export the configuration, import it into your Cribl.Cloud organization, and validate every source, route, pipeline and destination against the self-hosted environment before any production traffic moves.

  3. 3Cutover and post-migration support

We coordinate the cutover window with your team, move the worker groups and Edge fleets, confirm data flow end to end, and stay engaged through the agreed post-migration period.

Service brief

Cribl.Cloud Migration

Move a self-hosted Cribl deployment to Cribl.Cloud with a tested import and a coordinated cutover.

VC-PS-MIG-CRIBL

Why this service

Running your own Cribl Leader means running its upgrades, backups, certificates and capacity. Cribl.Cloud takes that off your plate and adds Search and Lake, but moving there by hand means re-creating configuration and hoping nothing was missed.

The Cribl.Cloud Migration does the move methodically: inventory, export, test import, validation, then a cutover you have already rehearsed.

Benefits

  • Cribl manages the Leader, upgrades, security and scaling, so your team does not
  • Your routes, pipelines, packs and knowledge objects move as they are, tested before cutover
  • A single coordinated cutover window with a rollback path
  • Access to the full Cribl.Cloud suite: Stream, Edge, Search and Lake

Overview

The Cribl.Cloud Migration is a fixed-scope consulting engagement that moves a self-hosted Cribl Stream and/or Cribl Edge deployment to Cribl.Cloud with minimal downtime and disruption. It covers the review of the current deployment, an updated architecture, configuration export and import, validation and cutover.

A dedicated VisiCore engineer, certified by Cribl, leads the work with your team. Support continues from initial planning through the post-migration period agreed at kickoff.

How it works

VisiCore delivers this service remotely through scheduled working sessions led by a named VisiCore engineer who holds current Cribl and/or Splunk certifications. On-site days can be added under a separate order.

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the engagement starts within one week of VisiCore accepting the signed order. The working schedule is set at the kickoff meeting.

VisiCore provides an agenda before each session, including which of your team members should attend. Sessions run one to four hours.

Every task, decision and deliverable is tracked as a ticket in the X10 client portal, so your team always has a current record of what was done and why.

FAQ

Common questions about this package

Briefly, per worker group, as sources are repointed. The cutover plan sequences the groups so the gap is minutes, and sources that support persistent queueing or retry fill it in.
